Our vision is to create a Council ‘Fit for the Future,’ with an entrepreneurial and intrapreneuarial culture leading to a step change in focus and performance. It is estimated that the Council has a £19 million budget shortfall in the next 3 years and given our success to date in meeting the austerity reductions, we need to meet this further challenge through income generation and taking a more commercial approach to how we work.
To do this and be successful the culture and systems of the Council will need to change. We will need to find innovative ways of working and delivering services. By taking these opportunities we will achieve our vision which will contribute in the widest sense to the objectives in our Corporate Plan.
